Clemson University’s Holtzendorff Auditorium (circa 1915)
Preservation South assisted Clemson University’s with its sensitive renovation of the once grand public space through archival research, color analysis and recreation of missing architectural features. Following structural repairs to the auditoriums roof trusses the rooms plaster was repaired and missing architectural features including pilaster capitals were reconstructed. The historic color scheme was recreated based on the findings of the paint analysis and once again highlight the spaces rich architectural detail.
